Addtionally, guest who book directly with us for two nights or more, will receive a complimentary one way airport or ferry transfer to the lodge.

Cancellation Policy

We understand that travel plans may change. For individual bookings, we do not charge a cancellation fee; however, we kindly ask that you let us know as early as possible if your plans change, this must be by email.

For group bookings, our group travel cancellation policy applies, where a group cancellation maybe subject to a cancellation fee. Please contact us directly to discuss the details.

We encourage all guests travelling outside of Samoa, to take travel insurance. Salty Lodge cannot be held responsible for any guest travel disruption due to weather, airline disruptions, full payment will still apply.

As from 1 January 2026, children under the age of 12 years will not be able to stay at Salty Lodge.

Our accommodation and surroundings is more suited to adults.

Our direct booking website will show the most up to date availability. If you are unable to book for your preferred dates, please try adjusting your dates if you have some flexibility with your schedule.

If your dates are fixed and our calendar shows no availability, we may still be able to help. Please send us an email with your specific request and we will see if we can move some things around on our calendar to accommodate you, if we can.

Yes, absolutely! We welcome guests from all nations, backgrounds, and faith traditions who wish to spend time at the lodge for a relaxing tropical getaway.

Once you arrive in Samoa, we can assist you with arranging a driver to meet you at your point of arrival, with a complimentary wharf or airport transfer when you book two or more nights with us.

For booking less than two nights, we can arrange an airport transfer for you, this is a set fee of 40tala 1-3 people, extra or over sized luggage does incur an extra charge.

If arriving to the lodge from the Mulifanua wharf, we can arrange a transfer for you, a set fee of 25tala, 1-3 people, extra or over sized luggage does incur an extra charge.

If you plan to arrive at the property on your own, please follow the directions to Salty Lodge Samoa on Google Maps. If driving from the Faleolo International Airport, turn right when you exit the airport. Keep on the main road, go past the Mulifanua wharf, keep driving until you see the Salty Lodge sign. We are are 10-15 minute drive from the Faleolo International Airport.

If you are coming from the Mulifanua Wharf turn right coming out of the wharf, and stay on the main road until you see the Salty Lodge sign. Less than a 5 minute drive.

Taxis can easily be found both at the Faleolo International Airport and Mulifanua Wharf, should you like to arrange you own transport. Please contact us if you would like assistance in arranging transport.

Yes, we have designated parking available.

In general, we always recommend our guests to use some form of transportation during their time in Samoa. Having your own vehicle will make it much easier and more convenient for you to explore the island, and we can gladly assist you with your transport needs (car, scooter, taxi, hired driver).

If you are looking to be close to the hub of tourist activities, our location does not offer that, unfortunately.

The Giant Clam Sanctuary is about a 20-30 minute drive from the lodge. Apia, the city of Samoa, is about a 45 minute drive.

Buses do come by the lodge, please speak with our front desk for assistance.

The Mulifanua Lagoon is immediately across the road from the Lodge. Swimming is best at high tide and it is recommended that you wear reef shoes. Mulifanua Lagoon has natural water springs, so it does depend on tides and weather conditions as to the clarity of the water. You may find 'mushy' sandy areas under foot, this is the natural springs, but the water is a relaxing way to refersh from your day. You may even see the odd turtle, and if you shine a light on the water at night, you will see fish in the water, darting back and forth from the light.

Yes, there are a couple of village style shops within close proximity where you can buy snacks, beverages, food, personal items, etc.

Please note Salty Lodge does not sell alcohol.

Our services reflect both the scale of our operation and the rhythm of Samoa, with a bustling peak tourism season and a quieter off-peak season. We share this openly so guests can plan their stay with confidence, while we focus on providing a relaxed, welcoming, and memorable experience for everyone who visits.

Peak Season (1 April – 31 October)

• Upgrade your stay with our Half Board option, which includes:

  • Accommodation

  • Breakfast

  • A delicious two-course dinner

• Alternatively, our small dinner menu is available for pre-order.

Off-Peak Season (1 November – 31 March)

• Dinner is available by pre-order only for groups of four or more guests.

• Pre-order a light dinner plate. If you are travelling alone or as a couple, you are welcome to preorder a light dinner plate, This is prepared fresh, and left in your room to enjoy at your leisure in the evenings. The pre ordered dinner plate is 30tala per person.

Late Arrivals

Arriving after 7:00 pm? You can pre-order a light dinner plate to be placed in your room, ready to enjoy at your leisure upon arrival.

We have recently added a chilled food cabinet where you can find yummy sweet treats.

We respectfully ask that you do not eat heavy or greasy foods inside the rooms. We are here to assist, please come and see us at the front desk.

For guests staying for three or more nights, there is a self service option available to you. If you prefer we can do your washing, a per load service fee does apply.

Early Arrival & Late Departure Policy

As a small, quiet lodge, our shared spaces are reserved for current guests only. To ensure comfort for all guests, we ask that the property and shared spaces are only used during your booked stay. Thank you for helping us maintain a peaceful and comfortable environment for everyone.

To ensure the comfort and smooth experience for all our guests, we kindly ask that the following policy be respected regarding early arrivals and late departures:

Check-In & Check-Out Times

· Check-in: From 2:00 PM

· Check-out: By 10:30 AM

Early Arrivals

· Guests are welcome to arrive at Salty Lodge after 12-midday on the day of their check in, however check in is from 2:00PM.

· Guests arriving before check-in time are welcome to store luggage at reception, subject to space availability.

· Guests are welcome to use the visitor’s bathroom located in the guest lounge, however access to the other lodge facilities and amenities is not available until after 2:00PM.

· Guests are welcome to enjoy a bite to eat or cool refreshing drink from our reception area during their wait.

· Early check-in to the room is available only if the room is ready, and may be subject to an additional fee. This will be at the discretion of the on-duty manager.

Late Departures

· After check-out at 10:30 AM, guests may store luggage at reception until 12:30 PM (free of charge).

· Staying on the premises beyond 1:00 PM is not permitted unless a late check-out has been pre-arranged (subject to availability and a fee).

· A late check can be arranged, but is subject to room availability. There is an hourly late check out charge of 50tala per hour. Should the room be required past 4:00PM a full days room rate will apply.

Thank you for understanding. Our lodge operates with limited space and staff, and we appreciate your understanding in respecting check-in and check-out times. This helps our housekeeping team prepare rooms in time for incoming guests, and most importantly the comfort and enjoyment of our inhouse guests.

If you have special travel timing needs, please let us know in advance — we’ll do our best to assist within our capacity.

Yes! We provide daily housekeeping services for our guests. Our staff will refresh your room, make your bed and remove any trash.

Please note: we only change bed linens and towels as needed or upon guest request. If you are staying for longer than three nights, your bed linen will be changed.

Thank you for helping us to conserve water and electricity by reducing unnecessary laundry.

Yes! We offer complimentary Wi-Fi access to our guests, this is available in our guest lounge area only. As this is provided by a third party service provider, we cannot be held responsible for any technical or connection problems.

We ask that you use the WIFI in a fair and reasonable manner.

We will provide you with the log in details upon your arrival.

No, unfortunately we are unable to add extra beds to any of the rooms.

Only registered guests are allowed to stay in the lodge rooms.

We ask that registered guests only are inside our rooms. Unfoturnately we cannot allow non registered guests, or guest numbers that exceed the room configuration to stay.

Should you have family or friends you would like to spend time with at Salty Lodge, they are welcome to come and visit between 9:00am and 6:00pm each day. If they would like to join you for dinner at the lodge, no problem please let our front desk know.

This is to ensure the emjoyment of our other guests, and for security purposes. Thank you for your understanding.

We are in the process of our swimming pool being added to the lodge. We don't want to put a date on this, but it will be ready for your enjoyment before 1 April 2026. We can't wait.

We are a non-smoking property. However, if you do wish to smoke, we ask that you smoke in the designated area. We appreciate your cooperation with observing our no-smoking rule within the property.

Smoking is rooms or on room balconies or foyers is not allowed.

In a hospitality world that has become increasingly automated and fully digitized, we cherish having face to face conversations and knowing our guests by name, not by room number.

We have a small dedicated team, who are here to assist you, explaining the property, and to answer any questions you may have.

This is your sabbatical from daily demands, so we understand that you may want to interact alot, (or as little) as you desire.
